CChange contributes to the Sunshine Coast taking the first step in establishing a Light Rail system.
Recently Vanessa Bennett of CChange Sustainable Solutions was engaged by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council to be the transport economist assessing the business case for establishing Light Rail on the Sunshine Coast.
Vanessa was responsible for the Cost Benefit Assessment, Economic Impact Assessment and Social Impact Assessment that accompanied the pre-feasibility and rapid economic assessments in Phase 1. This information, together with the other components of the Phase 1 assessments, was critical in moving the project forward to Phase 2. Phase 2, which has now commenced, will see more detailed engineering and economic assessments completed. The implementation of Light Rail will be a welcomed addition to the Sunshine Coast and has the opportunity to be a catalyst for sustainable change – economically, socially and environmentally.
